Twelve Champaign Unit 4 high school seniors have been named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. Principals Sara Sanders of Centennial High School and Dr. Montia Gardner of Central High School presented each honoree with a Letter of Commendation from their school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

About 34,000 students nationwide earned this recognition, placing them among the top 50,000 scorers on the 2024 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The honor highlights their exceptional academic promise and hard work.
