Upcoming Clubs and Activities Events  

  • Want to purchase or pre-order a 2018-2019 yearbook? There's still time! The deadline to order is June 3. Books are $60, and you may in cash, check (payable to Centennial Yearbook), or online.   • Are you the best dancer at Centennial? Come tryout TONIGHT from 7:00-8:30 pm. in the gymnasium. Come to the North entrance door. If you have any questions email Coach Jones at chs.chargers.dance1@gmail.com.   . 
  • Rattle the Stars is giving away free lemonade and information about mental health supports on Friday, May 17th. Stop by the Main Lobby during your 4th, 5th, or 6th hour. All are welcome!
  • Anyone interested in cheerleading for next year should attend tryouts next week. Tryouts will be at Centennial High School on Monday, May 20th  and Tuesday, May 21st from 7:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday, May 22 from 6:00-9:00 pm.   • Students that are currently enrolled in A.P. Psychology next year need to come to a mandatory meeting this Thursday (May 16) or Friday (May 17) with Mr. Scarlett in room 215 at 3:30 pm.  Topics covered will include the summer reading assignment, class communication policies, and expectations.  If you have any questions please speak with Mr. Scarlett in 215 before or after school. 
  • "Are you signed up to take AP US History next year? The mandatory meeting for those in the course will be offered Thursday, May 16th in room 213 at 3:30 pm. The meeting will include information about the summer assignment, textbook distribution and general expectations for the course. For more information, please see Mr. Sikora or Mrs. McMenamin."
  •  Anyone interested in attending summer school applications for academic are in the main office or freshman/sophomore center. Registration for first term classes will be taken through Friday, May 17th. Second term registration forms will be taken through Friday, June 7th.

College and Career Event:

The following institutions will be visiting Centennial next week. Please note that all students can attend a college visit, and must sign up at least the school day before to attend. Students must have permission from the teacher whose class they will be missing, as well as their parent/guardians to attend, and will be responsible for any missing work. Students can sign up for visits on Naviance, or can talk to Mr. Chun at the College and Career Center. 

     Friday, May 17th                4th hour   Army 

The University of Illinois pre-apprenticeship program will be having open interviews on Monday, May 20th, from 2nd to 3rd hour in room 119. This program can help students learn about the trades, work up to 40 hours a week with a $10 per hour rate. Please see Mr. Chun for a pass to go to this event.

Students who don’t have a class scheduled during a given hour do NOT need to report to or remain at school during that hour.  Freshman and Sophomore students do NOT need to attend their Advisory periods on Exam days.  These students may study quietly in the cafeteria.  Students who are not taking Exams should not loiter in the hallways because this disrupts the Exam environment!  

Please Note: Any request to take exams outside of the above times must be submitted IN WRITING to the Associate Principal as far in advance as possible.  The request should include which exams need to be taken outside of the scheduled times and the reason(s) why.  Please note that requests are NOT guaranteed and may be denied.  Please make every effort to take exams during the times scheduled above.
