Clubs and Activities
PE make-ups will be taking place on today both before and after school. Students will need to be dressed in their PE clothes and ready to go on the track for student entrance stairwell (in the case of inclement weather) by 7:30 am and or 3:30 pm. An intercom announcement will be made as to the exact location. Before school, students should come through the student entrance to access the locker rooms.
It is National 4-H Week. The Mission: “Adventure – Join the Team. Change the World”. 4-H is a worthy program which seeks to provide a learning experience for the whole child, by proving youth a greater sense of belonging, more independence, enhanced generosity, and mastery of a skill in an area of their choosing. Fun Fact: One pound of wool can make 10 miles of yarn. There are 150 yards (450 feet) of wool yarn in a baseball.
ARCHERS or Anyone interested in becoming part pf the Centennial Archery Team should attend the informational meeting this Thursday, October 5th, after school in the library. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SHOOT. WE WILL TEACH YOU! The meeting will be short and a tryout schedule will be provided. If you have any questions, please see Coach Lenz in the Library.
The deadline for Mu Alpha Theta applications and fees is Friday, October 6th. No applications or fees will be accepted after Friday, October 6th. Get your material to Mrs. Miller or Mr. Bagniefski.
Our FAFSA completion night will be tonight from 3:30-5:30 pm. The list of material to bring can be found on the CCC website, but in general, please bring tax forms, social security number or green card number, and records of any financial assets you may have. You do not have to sign up for this, but if you have any questions. Please contact Mr. Chun. If you cannot make it, you can go to Central’s FAFSA completion night, October 17th 7:00-9:00 pm at the Library Lecture Hall.
Last call for Homecoming shirts! If you missed the chance to order a class shirt or have not paid for yours, we have extras! Please see Ms. Bednar in Room 225 to purchase a shirt this week.
Are you interested in international affairs?Are you interested in global citizenship? Become delegates and represent your countries through Model United Nations. Our first informational meetings will be held in room 213, at 3:30 on Thursday, October 5th. For more information please see Ms. McMenamin.
The Centennial Apple Tasting is Back! Do you have a favorite apple?Or would you like to find a new favorite apple? EVERYONE is invited to a FREE apple tasting this Wednesday, October 4th, at 3:30 pm in room 104, (the Art Room). Mrs. Heather Miller will be educating us on different varieties of apples, then we will enjoy free samples. Please sign up on clipboard by door in room 115(or email Mrs. Pruski) by Tuesday, October 3rd, so we have enough delicious apples.
GSA will have a poster making activity after school today in room 104 for LGTBQ History month. Bring a friend and your ideas.
The Parkland CTE Open House is a great hands-on way to see different careers choices such as automotive, aviation, electrical power, engineering, horticulture, and much more! The field trip will be from the end of 1st hour to 6th hour. This opportunity is only open for junior and seniors, and lunch and free T-shirt will be provided. Field trip forms can be found at the College and Career Center and are due by today, but please turn it in as earlier as you can because spots are limited!! Please talk to Mr. Chun if you have any questions!
The Writing Center is hosting 2 junior/senior focused workshop for college application letter writing. Sessions will be held today and Thursday, October 5th in the Writing Center (room 228) from 3:30-4:30 pm. There is no sign up required, but you may want to have a draft for the workshopping portion of the session.

College visits have started at Centennial! Colleges and other post-secondary institutions will be visiting our school to give you more information about what they are all about! To sign up for the visit, please go to the College and Career Center, and please check the calendar on the website to see who is coming in the future!
