Interested in speaking out about your experiences of you diagnosed disability impacting your everyday life and identity at the end of January? Please see Ms. Hindes in the English Office. We are looking for students to speak about visible and invisible disabilities.
Anyone interested in playing softball this spring, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 17th at 3:30 pm in the cafeteria. They will be providing information about open gyms, conditioning and tryout.
Charger Scholastic Bowl will hold tryouts today from 3:30- 5:30 pm starting in Portable 3. This is your chance to join Centennial’s competitive academic trivia team. Sign up for a tryout at Mr. Cheun’s Room 242.
Attention ladies, girls track practice begins on Tuesday, January 16th for returning athletes and new juniors and seniors. Meet in room 222 by 3:38 pm. freshman and sophomores begin practice on Monday, January 22nd. Meet in room 222 by 3:38 pm. Bring practice attire to school, you do not need to dress for practice before reporting to room 222.
The Speech Team would like to congratulate Chargers Charles Hong, Faaiza Saif, Sib Senguttuvan, Angela Xu, and Grace Zhu. Charles finished 4th in JV Poetry, Faaiza finished 6th in Varsity Poetry, Sib finished 2ndin Varsity Impromptu and 5th in Varsity Dec, Angela finished 8th in Varsity Prose, and Grace finished 9th
Students interested in learning about racial identity development and becoming advocates for racial justice should consider joining RISE. RISE, the Racial Identity Student Experience, is comprised of students from Central, Centennial and Novak and caring adults who wish to formulate a progressive understanding about race. All genders and gender expression are welcome. A light dinner will be provided. The next meeting is at Centennial January 23rd in the library and room 127 from 4:00-5:30 pm. A bus will bring Central students to and from the meeting. Centennial students can see Ms. Aikman, Ms. Bonam , Mr. Carter, Mr. Henderson, Ms. Downs, Ms. Fundator, Ms. Gentry, Mr. Turner and Ms. Hutchison for more information.
Centennial High School will be inducting the first Centennial Athletic Hall of Fame class on January 27th at the Regent Ballroom in Savoy. The induction ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm with each of the members of the Class of 2018 speaking about their athletic careers. Tickets to the event are $40.00 and can be purchased online at https://centennial.champaignschools.org/or by mailing/delivering a check to the athletic office. Join us to celebrate the 11 spectacular athletes of the class of 2018 and the history of Centennial Athletics.

The Early Transfer Academy is a program from Parkland College that will allow you to take Parkland Classes, and potentially graduate with an associate’s degree by the end of high school. Parkland College is hosting an informational session for students and parents on Monday, January 22nd at 6:30 pm in U 140 (Student Union). Please RSVP at the College and Career Center website.
